Night display

Night display refers to a (inferior) duplicate of a piece of jewelry that is displayed by jewelers in the shop windows after business hours ("at night") in order to avoid break-ins or to minimize the damage caused by break-ins.

Copies of jewelry are often traded as "night displays".
