Local rail transport
Soest is connected to the Ruhr metropolitan region, Münsterland and East Westphalia by a regional express line and two regional train lines.
RE11 (Rhein-Hellweg-Express) : Düsseldorf - Dortmund - Hamm - Soest - Paderborn - Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe
RB59 (Hellweg-Bahn) : Dortmund - Unna - Werl - Soest (here connection to RB89 direction Paderborn)
RB89 (Ems-Börde-Bahn) : Münster - Hamm - Soest - Paderborn (- Warburg)
While the regional train lines run every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes ( RB89 ) or 60 minutes ( RB59 ) on weekends , the RE11 regional express runs irregularly (every hour up to four hours).
The regional train RB89 runs every 30 minutes between Münster and Paderborn and about every 120 minutes from Paderborn to Warburg. Individual trips will be extended to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe during rush hour.
Bus transport
The city of Soest is served by eight city bus routes and six regional bus routes in regular intervals as well as by other bus and taxi bus routes.

In the city of Soest, eight interlinked city bus lines run every 30 to 60 minutes. The starting point of all city buses is centrally located downtown Bustreff Hansaplatz .
The departure times of the lines are always the rendezvous times of xx: 15 and xx: 45 o'clock - a transition between the respective lines is possible at the Hansaplatz bus meeting point.
The lines are operated by the municipal transport company Regionalverkehr Ruhr-Lippe (RLG) , with some trips also being carried out by subcontractors.
