Nancy Hower (born May 11, 1966 in Wyckoff Township , New Jersey ) is an American film and theater actress and musician . Since 2004 she has also worked as a filmmaker.

life and work

Nancy Hower grew up in an extended family. She has six brothers and two sisters. She was already on stage in high school before studying drama at the famous Juilliard School . After a few regional appearances, she made her stage debut on Christmas Eve 1993, when she played the role of Andrea in The Years at the Manhattan Theater Club . A year later, in 1994, she made her film debut in the TV movie Sleepless .

Hower's best-known role in a television series was that of Ensign Samantha Wildman in the science fiction series Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager , a character she embodied in eight episodes.

In parallel to her work on film, she was repeatedly on stage, where she also directed theater productions as a director.

In 2004, Hower directed Memron , a mixture of documentary and feature film , which she directed, wrote the screenplay, produced, operated the camera and cut. The subject of the film deals with the Enron scandal that became public in the USA .

Nancy Hower was also a member of two bands that performed in various Los Angeles nightclubs . The first was called Wench , named after her nickname as a child (Wenchy), the second was called Stella .
