Naomi Matauanaeta A'asa (born February 8, 2000 in Pago Pago ) is an American-Samoan beach handball player .

Naomi A'asa starts for the CaBoom Athletic Club of Ili'ili . The winger belongs to the founding generation of handball, especially beach handball, in American Samoa. She was part of the squad of her association that won the title at the U-17 Oceania Beach Handball Championships against the favored Australian team and thus qualified for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games . In Buenos Aires , too, A'asa was part of the squad that finished eleventh. For 2018 she was named Junior Sportswoman of the Year in American Samoa.

The following year, A'asa was part of the American Samoas senior team. At the continental championships of Oceania 2019 and the parallel Australian championships, in which the team from American Samoa competed as a club team, the team won the silver medals in both competitions. In the context of the continental championships, the team from American Samoa only had to admit defeat to Australia and won not only against the representation of the Cook Islands , but also the team from New Zealand . In 2018 she won silver at the Oceania Championships with the American Samoas national team against Australia.

Since September 2019, A'asa has also been the trainer of the newly founded U15 girls' beach handball team of their association, together with Philomena Tofaeono , as well as the head coach of the U16 national team. Here she is supported by the senior national coach Carl Sagapolutele Floor , she in turn is his assistant coach for the U-16 boys. A'asa is also a level 1 certified beach handball referee and certified level 1 trainer for indoor handball.
