The The National Hotel was a hotel in Washington, DC It was located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 6th Street. John Gadsby (1766–1844) had it built in 1826.

In 1857 a mysterious disease or poisoning broke out here. During the Civil War , sympathizers from the southern states met in the hotel . 1865 should be here within Conspirator of Vice-President Andrew Johnson are murdered.

In 1929 the hotel was bought by the city and in 1942 it was demolished.
