The National Soccer Hall of Fame is the hall of fame of American football . The institution, which was initiated in 1950 and officially founded in 1979, annually welcomes exceptional players, coaches and officials who have made a contribution to the development of American football.

History and background

A hall of fame for American football has been run privately by former professional and amateur players in Philadelphia since 1950, and in 1979 this was institutionalized with the construction of the National Soccer Museum in Oneonta , NY . In 1983 the US association USSF officially recognized the facility. After financial problems, the Hall of Fame closed its museum building, which was inaugurated in 1999, in 2010, including the archive, which was subsequently distributed to different locations, and has only been managed intangible since then. Since then, the association has carried out the elections for admission and the admission ceremonies.

There are currently three categories in which to become a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame: Player, Veteran, and Official. In addition, the Hall of Fame has the opportunity to award medals of honor to outstanding personalities.
