The National Liberation Front ( Arabic الجبهة الوطنية للتحرير, DMG al-Ǧabha al-waṭaniyya li-t-taḥrīr ) is a Syrian rebel coalition and identifies itself as part of the Free Syrian Army in the Syrian Civil War . The rebel group was formed by 11 rebel groups in May 2018. It split off from the Islamist Haiʾat Tahrir al-Sham rebel group and is active in the Idlib area in the north-west of the country. The rebel coalition gets support from Turkey .

At the beginning of January 2019 there was fighting against the Haiʾat Tahrir asch-Scham . The National Liberation Front lost many of its territories.

The National Liberation Front took part in the rebel offensive in June 2019. Several villages were recaptured through this.

On October 4th, the Turkish government announced that the National Liberation Front had now become part of the Syrian National Army . This is a rebel group set up in Syria by Turkey. This also sees itself as part of the Free Syrian Army.
