National Democratic Partij
National Democratic Party (NDP) is a political party in Suriname .
The NDP was founded on July 4, 1987 by Desi Bouterse , who is also the party chairman (as of May 2020). In addition to the chairman, the main board has consisted of 16 members since 2012.
The party has had government responsibility since the parliamentary elections on May 25, 2010 and has appointed Desi Bouterse as the President of the Republic of Suriname.
In the parliamentary elections on May 25, 2015, the party won an absolute majority with 26 out of 51 seats in the National Assembly of Suriname .
The party headquarters are located in the Ocer building complex on Dr. HD Benjaminstraat 56 in Paramaribo .
