National research focus north-south

The National Research (NCCR) North-South (also: National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) North-South / Pôle de Recherche National (PRN) north-south ) was a Swiss, an inter-university research program on issues of sustainable development in Switzerland and in transition and developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It was financed from 2001 to 2013 by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The management of the program was coordinated by the Center for Development and Environment (CDE) at the University of Bern . The NCCR North-South promoted an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research approach .
