Thomas Gage, 7th Baronet

Sir Thomas Gage, 7th Baronet (March 2, 1781 - December 27, 1820 ), was a British botanist .

He was the only son of Sir Thomas Gage, 6th Baronet, and his wife Charlotte Fitzherbert. At the death of his father in 1798 he inherited his title of baronet , created in 1662 in the Baronetage of England , of Hengrave in the County of Suffolk .

The Cambridge University Library , Department of Manuscripts and University Archives, holds Gage sketchbooks from 1807-1811. The British botanist Richard Anthony Salisbury named the genus Gagea from the lily family in honor of Gage.

On January 9, 1809, he married Lady Mary-Anne Browne, daughter of Valentine Browne, 1st Earl of Kenmare . With her he had a son and heir, Sir Edward Rokewood Gage, 9th Baronet († 1872).
