National flag song
The flag song ( Chinese 國旗 歌 , pinyin gúoqí gē ) of the Republic of China is played when the flag of the Republic of China is raised and lowered .
Due to pressure from the People's Republic of China for Taiwan's political status , this song is played in place of the Republic of China's national anthem on international occasions such as the Olympic Games . The Taiwanese team takes part in this and other sporting events under the name "Chinese Taipei" (German: Chinese Taipei). This song is more popular with parts of the population than the national anthem of the Republic of China, as this is also the party song of the Kuomintang (Chinese National Party). The lyrics are written in classical Chinese. The last two lines relate to the symbolism and colors of the flag.
The music was composed by Huang Tzu ( 黃 自 ) and the lyrics are by Dai Jitao ( 戴季陶 ), also known as Dai Chuanxian ( 戴傳賢 ).
text
Just like with the national Chinese anthem, it is not easy to translate a poetic text from classical or upscale Chinese because it is usually quite ambiguous.
