Ladislaus Winterstein

Ladislaus Winterstein (born June 11, 1905 in Alt-Siwatz in West-Batschka , Kingdom of Hungary , Austria-Hungary , † November 2, 1964 in Hattersheim am Main ) was a German politician ( SPD ). He was both a member of the Hessian state parliament and, for a short time, a member of the German parliament .

Winterstein was elected to the Hessian state parliament in the second electoral period (December 1, 1950 - November 30, 1954) via the state list of the SPD and initially belonged to it until November 1954. In 1951 he also took over the office of mayor of Hattersheim, which he held until his death. On July 17, 1954, Ladislaus Winterstein was a member of the 2nd Federal Assembly in Berlin .

In the third electoral term, on November 11, 1957, Winterstein succeeded MP Franz Gruber, who had died four days earlier, in the Hessian state parliament and remained its member until the end of the electoral term at the end of November 1958. On 26 October 1964, he was only a few days before his sudden death as substitutes for the retired Willi Birkelbach a member of the German Bundestag.

Ladislaus Winterstein was the first district member of the Main-Taunus district and, in this function, also deputy to the district administrator there . Due to his Danube Swabian origin , he was also involved in the Association of Displaced Persons (BVD) and was its district chairman in Darmstadt and deputy chairman of the Hesse state association .

His sons Norbert (* 1931) and Horst Winterstein (1934-2006) both became lawyers and also high-ranking SPD politicians.
