The Nationalist School ( Chinese  国家 主义 派 , Pinyin Guójiāzhǔyì pài , W.-G. Kuo-chia-chu-i p'ai  - "Nationalist School") was a political and philosophical school in China formed in the 1920s . It was led by Zeng Qi 曾琦 (1892–1951), Li Huang 李 璜 (1895–1991), Zuo Shunsheng 左 舜生 (1893–1969) and Yu Jiaju 余家菊 (1898–1976). It was also called Awakened Lion School ( 醒狮 家 , Xǐngshījiā ) because its leading members founded a magazine called " Waking Lion " ( 醒獅 週報 , Xǐngshī zhōubào , English The Awakening Lion Weekly ) in 1924 , which represented a political nationalism in politics in contrast to communism and Sun Zhongshan's policy of cooperation with the Chinese Communist Party and alliance with the Soviet Union . In philosophy she propagated pragmatism .
