The National Liberal Party ( 国民 自由 党 , Kokumin Jiyutō , English National Liberal Party ) was an ultra-nationalist political party in the Japanese Empire during the Meiji period .
history
The National Liberal Party was founded in October 1890 by five members of the House of Representatives elected in July, based in Kyushu . This happened after a failed attempt, the Liberal Party and Constitutional reformers Party ( 立憲改進党 , Rikken Kaishintō , English Constitutional Reform Party ) to unite. Most of the representatives had previously been members of the Daidō Club.
The new party was disbanded the following year.
