Molln National Park Center

The National Park Center in the Upper Austrian municipality of Molln (National Park Allee 1) was opened in 2001 and is the largest wooden atrium in Austria. The architect was Dieter Utner . The Kalkalpen National Park Association is located in the house .

Construction and use

For the façade was untreated larch wood used and the laminated beams - post and spruce . The floors are made of beech . There is a parking deck below the center and event and seminar rooms with a total of 100 m² are located on the upper floor. The covered inner courtyard offers 300 seats. The building is barrier-free . The permanent exhibition “Hidden Waters” has been there since it opened.

The “Café am Teich” on the ground floor is named after an artificially created biotope . This is fed by the Mollnerbach , which flows between the center and the neighboring Spar supermarket. There is a drinking fountain on the forecourt on Marktstrasse.
