Natural monument 2 Linden (Oberalme)
The natural monument 2 Linden is located southwest of Oberalme in the urban area of Brilon . The linden trees are south of the avenue to Haus Bruch . The two linden trees were designated as a natural monument (ND) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . When designated as ND, it was in a Christmas tree culture, which was later removed. The natural monument is surrounded by the nature reserve grassland complex on the outskirts of Oberalme . A wayside shrine stands between the two linden trees . Both are near the road from Oberalme to Wülfte .
The northern linden tree has a diameter of about 1.20 m at chest height and the southern one about 0.80 m. Mistletoe grows on both trees .
In 2018 the two linden trees were severely cut. Before that, there was a discussion whether the trees should not be cut completely due to the lack of traffic safety.
