The oak and horse chestnut natural monument is located southwest of Oberalme in the urban area of Brilon . Both stand south of the road from Oberalme to Wülfte on a double hilltop. The oak stands on the edge of a grassland area, while the horse chestnut stands in the middle of it. The individual trees are visible from afar.

In 2008, the two trees were designated as a natural monument (ND) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Brilon Plateau landscape plan . The natural monument is surrounded by the open country complex around the Wülfte / Brilon plateau .

The oak has a bizarre root shape and seven trunks. There is a heap of reading stones under the oak . The oak has a lot of dead wood in the tree.
