As naucrary ( give a wiki. Ναυκραρία = ship captaincy of ναυκληρέω = a ship have ) were designated as the Archaic period in Athens a subdivision of Athenian citizenship, each one ship and two tabs provide and had to entertain. The leader of a Naukraria was called Prytanis Naukraros (πρύτανις ναυκράρων). In addition to the leadership of the Naukraria, he was also responsible for the financial and war administration. There were a total of 48 ship commanderships - four Athenian phylums each consisted of three titties , each of which provided four naucraria.
After the Kleisthenic reforms , Athens was divided into ten phyls. Kleisthenes therefore increased their number to 50, each 5 naukrarias from a phyle. However, the financial and war administration was transferred to the Prytanen . Under Themistocles the Prytanis Naukraros were replaced by Trierarchs .
