Secondary roads are in Switzerland and Liechtenstein all roads, the beginning of which is not clearly identified on which the general traffic rules ( Art. 2 , para. 7 SSV ), which state that coming from the right road users precedence have.
Depending on the ownership, these are cantonal, communal or private side streets. With regard to the standard of development, secondary roads cannot always be distinguished from main roads. Measures to calm traffic, such as Tempo 30 zones , pedestrian zones or meeting areas , are only permitted on side streets ( Art. 2a, Paragraph 5 SSV ).
