Neem Karoli Baba or Neem Karori Baba (real name Lakshmi Narayan Sharma ; * in Akbarpur , Uttar Pradesh ; † September 11, 1973 in Vrindavan ) was the guru of Ram Dass (Richard Alpert) and became famous through his work Be Here Now (Sei now here), which became an important book for the hippie movement. For his followers, who call him "Maharajji", he is considered one of the great saints of India in the 20th century.
