Negative conference

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The negative conference is a creativity technique for intuitive brainstorming. It represents the reverse of classic brainstorming , in which the participants do not look for solutions to a problem, but rather, the other way around, for problems. It is allowed to emphasize existing or potential errors, weaknesses, disturbances, criticisms and other negative features clearly or even exaggeratedly and to invent new problems and difficulties. The result is various negative scenarios for which the participants can work out new solutions in a further step of brainstorming, for example in a brainstorming session. The method is particularly suitable for developing a unique selling point.
