Nekemte

Nekemte (also Nek'emte , Lekemt ) is a city in the region Oromia in Ethiopia , 220 km west of Addis Ababa area.
Until 1994 it was the capital of the then Wolega province . For the year 2006 a population of 80,685 was given. The place is at an altitude of 2088 m. In the city there is a museum about the Wollega-Oroma culture.
There are some spectacular waterfalls around Nekemte.
