Santo Adrião Necropolis
The necropolis of Santo Adrião ( Portuguese called Sepulturas antropomórficas de Santo Adrião or Necrópole medieval de Santo Adrião ) consists of four anthropomorphic rock tombs , roughly north of Montalegre and north of the Rio Cávado in the Vila Real district in Portugal .
There are four rock graves in the cemetery of the church “Igreja de Santo Adrião” . One is dated to the 10th, the other three to the 13th century. The older one lies as a box-like recess in a round rock outcrop , the other three have an anthropomorphic shape and are artistic in their design, which points to a later date.
To the southwest lies the Donões necropolis, about 3.5 km away .
