Nelson Cossio

Nelson Cossio (born June 14, 1966 in Santiago de Chile ) is a former Chilean football player . The goalkeeper was a Chilean international .

He began his career in 1983 with CD Palestino in the Primera División . From 1987 to 1990 he was with the second division CD Soinca Bata and CD Antofagasta and then returned to Palestino. In 1993 he moved to Everton and after a year to Universidad de Chile . With the club he became Chilean champions in 1994 and 1995. From 1996 to 1997 he was under contract with the Audax Club Sportivo Italiano . After Deportes Temuco he went to Deportes Iquique in 1999 . This year it was suspended for nine months because of doping . He then worked for Deportes Concepción , Unión Española and CD Universidad Católica . With UC he won the Apertura in 2002. He then ended his career.

Cossio was called up to the Chilean national team four times in 1997 and took part in the 1997 Copa America .
