Nestler was a craft occupation in the Middle Ages and in the early modern period.

The activity of the Nestler (also Senkler ) consisted in the production of leather cords and thin straps, which were called " Nestel " or laces. These straps were used to tie shoes, shirts, pants, smocks and coats. Nestler also made bags. However, these could only be made from leather strips. Other bags were only allowed to be made by baggers . Nestler also worked as a leather dyer.
