A Network Access Server ( NAS ) is a server provided by an Internet Service Provider is operated and customer access to the Internet allows or intranet of a company - network the legitimate users to access data and programs possible.

The NAS only allows authorized users to access it. The authorization check is usually carried out using the IETF protocol systems such as RADIUS or Diameter .
