New creature
The new creature ( ancient Greek καινὴ κτίσις , Latin nova creatura ) or the new creation is a term from the letters of the Apostle Paul :
- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old has passed, see, the new has come. 2 Cor 5,17 LUT "
According to Paul Tillich , Paul used the term “new creature” for the thoughts of the new being . Maarten de Jong, on the other hand, says, “The Pauline text reads literally: 'Is someone in Christ, (He is) a new creation'. For Paul the Christ and Jesus of Nazareth are one and the same person. He alone speaks of Him: Jesus Christ is the 'New Creation', no one else ”. For Karl Barth “This creature is grateful. In this she recognizes God and in this she becomes a new creature herself: that she becomes grateful. "
