Educational work, equipment and offers
Focus on computers
The laptop classes at the school offer a basic general education with new media (computer, laptop ...). The school is an “eEducation Austria Expert School”, which means that computers are deployed and used in all objects and always when they make learning easier. One hour of computer science lessons and one hour of non-binding computer science exercises are offered at each school level.
Focus on music
The music middle school is a special form of the new middle school. In music, instrumental and ensemble lessons, an in-depth, advanced and independent handling of music is taught. The pupils actively deal with as many musical areas as possible. The increased occupation with music is also intended to promote personal, social and communicative skills. At school, these skills are developed primarily through making music together in the ensemble and in the class choir, through public appearances and through special events. In the 2nd class a musical, in which the choir of the 1st music class also participates, is performed.
languages
In the 3rd and 4th grades, students are offered a language range in which they can alternatively choose between French, Italian and English. The students attend a compulsory language lesson for a period of one lesson per week over a period of two years and thus have the opportunity to learn a second living foreign language or to deepen their knowledge of the English language.
At the beginning of school, all-day care starts in the school center. A group of 17 pupils from the elementary school and the new middle school are looked after from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, every day from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. there is learning support by teachers from the elementary school or the new middle school.
In 2015, the school was awarded the Austrian School Prize in the reading competence category with 3rd place.
