Austrian school award
The Austrian State Prize for Schools and Teaching (formerly the Austrian School Prize) is an award given by the Federal Ministry of Education to schools with excellent pedagogical practice . It belongs to the group of state prizes of the Republic of Austria .
Awards ceremonies
2009
The award ceremony by Minister of Education Claudia Schmied took place on September 22, 2009. The main prize is endowed with 10,000 euros, the special prize with 5,000 euros. 158 applications were received from all federal states and from all types of schools. In a preliminary jury, representatives of the Ministry of Education nominated 9 applicants in three rounds. An independent jury consisting of Monika Kircher-Kohl, Bernd Schilcher, Michael Schratz and Peter Härtel selected the winners.
