Ludesch was part of the imperial direct rule of Blumenegg , was thus owned by the prince abbey of Weingarten from 1603 to 1802 and went with this to Orange-Nassau after the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802 . In 1804 the Habsburgs acquired the entire rule in exchange, since then Ludesch has been part of Austria .
The community received an upswing through the establishment of a post office and the construction of the Arlbergbahn in 1871/72.
