European protected area Ludescherberg
The European protected area Ludescherberg ( Natura 2000 area ) is located in the municipality of Ludesch , in Vorarlberg , Austria . It includes forest , meadow and sparsely populated building land or farms and other cultivated land.
The purpose of the European protected area Ludescherberg is the protection of endangered wild native plant and animal species and their natural habitats as well as the preservation of the centuries-old cultivated land.
Legal basis
In accordance with the Vorarlberg Nature Conservation Ordinance, the Ludescherberg European Protected Area was designated as such with a simple state law. The flora-fauna-habitat directive 92/43 / EEC (FFH directive) of the European Union forms the basis for the protection .
Scope of protection
In terms of the Flora-Fauna-Habitat Directive (Annexes I and II of the Habitats Directive), the following features are relevant and protected for this protected area:

- near-natural dry lime lawns and their stages of shrubbery (Festuco-Brometalia) (special populations with remarkable orchids),
- species-rich montane nebulas,
- Tufa springs.

The Ludescherberg European Protected Area largely follows the municipal boundaries of Ludesch in the north-west, north-east and south-east. In the northwest this is the border with the municipalities of Thuringerberg and in the north with St. Gerold , in the northeast the border with the municipality Raggal and in the southeast with the municipality Nüziders . In the south-west, the settlement edge of the Ludesch community is also the border of the European protected area and accordingly uneven in detail.
