Thuringerberg is a municipality in Austria in Vorarlberg in the Bludenz district with 719 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
geography
Thuringerberg is located in the westernmost state of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the Bludenz district at an altitude of 877 meters. 43% of the area is forested, 25.6% of the area is Alps. There are no other cadastral communities in Thüringerberg. Thüringerberg belongs to the Great Walsertal .
history
The Habsburgs ruled the places in Vorarlberg alternately from Tyrol and Upper Austria (Freiburg im Breisgau). The former Blumenegg Castle and today's Blumenegg Castle ruins are remarkable . From 1805 to 1814 the place belonged to Bavaria, then again to Austria. For Austrian province of Vorarlberg Thüringerberg heard since its founding in 1861. The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.
Population development
On December 31, 2002 the community, including the second residences, had 702 inhabitants. The proportion of foreigners was 5.7 percent.
politics
The Thüringerberg municipal council consists of 12 members. In the municipal council and mayoral elections in 2015 , only the “Thüringerberg Together” unified list ran for election, which subsequently placed all 12 mandates. Mayor is Wilhelm Müller, who was confirmed in office in the direct mayor election 2015 with 83.95% of the votes.

Economy and Infrastructure
In 2003 there were 12 commercial enterprises with 57 employees and 6 apprentices on site. There were 435 employees subject to wage tax.
