The General Special School Krems ( ASO Krems ) is a special school in Krems an der Donau in the Wachau in Lower Austria . The Special Education Center Krems ( SPZ Krems ) is also located there.
Special Education Center Krems
The Special Education Center has about 35 special education , support teachers , professionals and support staff. The school and center have been run by Dorrit Stiglbrunner since 2012.
In addition to teaching, it is also responsible for tasks such as extracurricular contact and training in the field of special education in the area of the city of Krems.

General special school Krems
The ASO Krems teaches about 90 pupils with special educational needs, and another 30 pupils from the Stein elementary school (integration classes). The guiding principle is "School to grow and mature".
It includes the following types of school:
- 3 classes with learning disabled children (ASO classes)
- 2 classes with difficult-to-educate students (SES classes)
- 4 classes for severely and multiply handicapped children (S classes)
- 4 cooperation classes in the elementary school area (in cooperation with VS Stein)
- Cooperation class in the secondary area (5th grade)
- Preparatory course for acquiring the secondary school diploma (HS diploma), vocational preparation year
- Sanatorium class
In addition, the school offers various care and therapy options:
- All-day school type
- Speech therapy support
- Support lessons for hearing , visually impaired and blind children
- Learning advice mathematics
- Behavioral education
- Counseling hours for students with behavioral problems
- Music therapy , occupational therapy , physiotherapy , Moto therapy , Move Training , Animal-assisted pedagogy and healing pedagogical vaulting and the like
- Mediation and peer counseling for those affected
The special school Krems works with unconventional teaching models in the form of school trials , including the pilot project bridge class with guest lessons at schools such as the BRG Krems, the BHAK Krems or the ORG of the Mary Ward private school.
It is also a training school at the Krems University of Education .
