Under a state award is meant in the Republic of Austria a state award, which is endowed with financial resources and by a Federal Ministry will be given. Every federal minister can donate state prizes for topics from their own area of ​​competence.

Austrian Art Prize - Various categories Ministry of Education This prize was awarded to so-called established artists "for their extensive, internationally recognized oeuvre" and was awarded annually or biennially in various categories.
