Most beautiful book in Austria

The award Most Beautiful Book of Austria is awarded annually by the Association of Austrian Book Trade in cooperation with the Federal Chancellery in the categories of General Literature , art books and photo books , children's books , non-fiction and academic books , textbooks and special productions awarded. A total of around 15 works (2006) will be awarded. In addition, a state prize worth 3,000 euros is awarded to individual books.

The competition is part of the international competition, Most Beautiful Books from All Over the World , organized by the Leipzig Book Art Foundation . Every year the foundation awards the Golden Letter as the highest award to the book, "which is not only flawless in terms of typography, cover, design and bookbinding, but above all innovative".
