Hermann Joseph head
Joseph Kopf (born October 8, 1929 in St. Gallen as Hermann Joseph Kopf ; † August 24, 1979 there ) was a Swiss writer .
Life
Joseph Kopf completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller and then worked as an employee at a bank in Bregenz . He then stayed for four years in Vienna , where he was a friend and collaborator of the painter Ernst Fuchs . Further stays abroad took him to Italy , Spain and Israel , where he spent four years. At the end of the 1960s he returned to St. Gallen, where he lived as a freelance writer.
Joseph Kopf's literary work consists mainly of poetry ; his later works were mostly published in collaboration with visual artists . In 1973 he was awarded the Johann-Peter-Hebel-Prize of the state of Baden-Württemberg .
