Katharina Prantl
Katharina Prantl (* 1958 in Vienna ) is an Austrian painter .
biography
Katharina Prantl, daughter of Uta Peyrer, a painter, and Karl Prantl , a sculptor, grew up in Pöttsching and St. Margareten in Burgenland . She is the sister of the dancer and choreographer Sebastian Prantl . After a long stay in New York and New Mexico in 1977/78, Prantl studied from 1978 to 1981 in the Max Weiler master school at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and from 1981 to 1983 in the master class of Arnulf Rainer .
She received the Austrian State Prize for the Most Beautiful Book in Austria for the book “Walking over the hill of St. Margarethen, from stone to stone”, published by her in 2004 .
