László Varvasovszky

László Varvasovszky (born 1947 in Vienna ) is an Austrian artist and children's book author.

Life

László Varvasovszky studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and received the diploma for stage and film design in 1972. Until 1995 he taught stage design at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and received the professional title of professor. He lives and works as an author, draftsman, performer and set designer in Vienna.

Varvasovszky became known as a picture book author, he also wrote children's plays and radio plays. He received various awards for his work, including in 2006 for the bear word play book as one of the most beautiful books in Austria and in 2014 for And when I dig, I found the time the children's and youth book prize of the city of Vienna .
