The State Prize for Corporate Quality (formerly Austrian Quality Award ) has been awarded annually to Austrian companies in the profit and non-profit sector since 1996 in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economy, Family and Youth and Quality Austria . It belongs to the group of state prizes of the Republic of Austria .

The price

The overarching goal of the State Prize for Corporate Quality is to anchor and strengthen corporate quality and excellence in as many companies and organizations in Austria as possible, and thus to further develop competitiveness. Austrian organizations should be accompanied and supported on their way to excellence. Excellence is understood to mean outstanding management practices and the achievement of outstanding results. The expectations of all interest groups (owners, customers, employees, partners, society) are taken into account.

The State Prize for Corporate Quality is the official national award for holistic top performance and honors the particularly successful implementation of "excellence principles" and the results achieved with them.

As in all other European countries, the State Prize for Corporate Quality is assessed according to the EFQM model . Participants in the competition for the State Prize for Corporate Quality benefit in any case: The journey is often more important than winning . The methods and tools introduced improve fitness and strengthen the energy of a company.

Awards

In all 4 categories, the jury will determine up to three finalists, if the participating companies perform well and based on the assessment by the assessors.

One category winner will be honored from these finalists for each category. The category winners are nominated for the state award for corporate quality. The jury selects the winner of the State Prize for Corporate Quality from the nominations. In addition, the jury can award a special prize on the basis of excellent performance on individual aspects of the evaluation model. The list of excellent companies in Austria is drawn up from all participating companies and organizations if they have been rated accordingly.

In addition, if the number of points is reached, the EFQM Recognized for Excellence award can be applied for, as well as Ö-Cert .

Valuation bases

The assessment of the company quality is based on the independent EFQM model and the RADAR logic.

The EFQM concept of the state award combines qualitative aspects of corporate management (strategy processes, processes of service creation ...) with the successes achieved. It conclusively combines the measures that an organization takes with the results achieved and thus quickly and transparently shows potential for improvement. The EFQM concept has been tried and tested for almost 20 years and is also used to determine the best companies in Europe in the EFQM Excellence Award.

Use

How do applicants benefit? The participating organizations should receive the following for a reasonable cost:

  • a current status of the procedures used in the organization and the results achieved through the questionnaire based on the EFQM approach
  • a quick and directly usable added value through the strategy-oriented workshop, which is carried out on site by the assessors
  • a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the corporate quality of the assessed company as a valuable external view
