Neuenfelder machine factory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The new fields Maschinenfabrik (NMF) is a German company for ship cranes . The TTS subsidiary is based next to the Sietas shipyard in Hamburg-Neuenfelde .

history

The Neuenfelder Maschinenfabrik was founded in 1970 by Sietas as an independent company from the shipyard. Since then, it has been developing and producing ship cranes and hydraulic systems. As a full-service provider, the company's field of activity ranges from project planning through construction and production to service. In addition to production in the Neuenfelde plant, cranes have also been produced in China since 2004, mainly for the Asian market, but also for the European market. In the course of the bankruptcy of the J. J. Sietas shipyard, NMF was taken over by TTS in 2012 .

Cranes

Constructive features of the cranes from NMF are a splash-proof, closed crane housing in a welded steel construction, in which all important units are accommodated. Many cranes offer what is known as 2-line operation on the hook for every loading process. This eliminates the need to change the shear. With mostly two pump units and the equipment with an auxiliary stroke, a certain failure safety is guaranteed.

The most powerful ship crane is the DK SL Heavy Lift type with a load capacity of up to 1000 t. These are also the most powerful ship tower cranes in the world; only Huisman Equipment from the Netherlands manufactures more powerful ship cranes, which are based on a different concept.
