The New Orchestra Basel is a Basel- based symphony orchestra . It was founded in 1982 by Bela Guyas and is managed by Christian Knüsel.

Since its inception, the orchestra has given over 350 concerts in Basel and Northwestern Switzerland . The lively concert activity in the region is supplemented by individual appearances in other Swiss cities and abroad. A central concern of the orchestra is the promotion of young talent. The orchestra consists of young professional musicians and offers a platform for aspiring soloists.

Another important aspect is regional anchoring. The New Orchestra Basel promotes local artists and organizes concerts throughout the region with a pricing policy that offers anyone interested the opportunity to experience classical music. Seven different programs are presented in two subscription series, each of which can be heard in the Martinskirche in Basel and at other concert venues in the Basel region. Two extra concerts and two guest performances are further components of the current concert season.

In addition to the commitment to traditional values ​​and musical masterpieces, one of the orchestra's priorities is to promote the creativity of young artists with innovative projects.
