Neural Impulse Actuator
The Neural Impulse Actuator allows you to control a computer game with brain waves and / or with the mouse.
Using a headband, sensors measure impulses from the forehead and eye muscles and voltage fluctuations in the electrochemical activities of the brain. The procedure is based on electroencephalography (EEG) in medicine.
The first prototype was created by Brainfingers. It was actually intended for the disabled. In Germany the first device was presented at CeBit 2008 by OCZ . It came out in stores at the end of May 2008.
The product could be used for improved input in computer games by enabling lower response times. So far, however, only easy-to-use games such as first-person shooters can be controlled. On the other hand, technology is also seen as an opportunity to make it easier for people with disabilities to enter computer commands. The device is connected to the computer via a USB 2.0 interface.
