Neustarter Foundation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Neustarter Foundation is an independent, non-profit foundation in Switzerland . It deals with generation issues and the promotion of exchange and balance between younger and older people.

History and organization

On September 28, 1999, the Tertianum Foundation was notarized, which dealt with the topic of "aging". After the Board of Trustees voted on a realignment in 2016 - in view of the serious demographic change accompanied by the rapid developments in industry and the world of work 4.0 - the topic of “work” was added to the program. This marked the beginning of the “Neustarter” project, which went online in 2017. The Tertianum Foundation was renamed the Neustarter Foundation on March 13, 2018 .

The highest body of the foundation is the foundation council , which usually consists of six honorary members. The business is managed by the management, who can commission third parties or hire staff for the operational tasks of the foundation. As of September 2019, the Neustarter Foundation's operational team consists of four people.

Partnerships and Funding

The sole primary partner of the Neustarter Foundation is Zürcher Kantonalbank (as of September 2019), after Helvetia Insurance had also been a partner of the Foundation for 14 years until the end of 2018 . This primary partnership was dissolved, but the cooperation continued.

The foundation is largely financed by sponsoring its partners and also through income from services. All income is used to fulfill the purpose of the foundation.

Priorities and activities

The priorities according to the purpose of the foundation are

  • Inspiration, encouragement and support for professional re-starts for workers 49+ within or outside of companies
  • Advising companies in the field of generation- friendly talent management : strategy development, agile cooperation in mixed-age teams, leadership of baby boomers , generation X , Y and Z , employer brand
  • Research and knowledge exchange on generation and work issues
  • Social discourse on the subject of "Older and younger people in the working world of the future"

The foundation offers various public events such as workshops, seminars and monthly get-togethers with the aim of networking and stimulating social discourse, in particular to understand demographic change and to help shape it in a meaningful way.

The foundation also supports companies in the face of demographic change and, at the same time, increasing digitization, in order to interest long-term and older employees with suitable models and methods for future working environments.

research

The foundation is also involved in research, as in 2018 together with the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and the Zürcher Kantonalbank. This is how it goes B. in the research project “Labor Market Integration: Necessity for a Culture Change for Older Workers? Potentials and hurdles of new career models »about finding out which new working models are currently emerging - for example flexwork, mixed-age tandems, project work or archery careers.

The experiment “Internship Work Environment 4.0”, which was launched in November 2018, is essentially about enabling long-term employees from established companies (e.g. from the banking and insurance industry) to gain experience in other working environments after a four-week internship - at a start-up or another company from the world of work 4.0 - to contribute to your company. This is accompanied by the Institute for Applied Psychology at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences .
