Neville Williams

Neville Chappy Williams , also (* 1940) Uncle Chappy called, is a Elder of Wiradjuri - Aborigines in the Australian state of New South Wales . He is one of the leading personalities of the tent embassy , which admonishes the rights of the Aborigines and has been set up in Canberra directly at the Old Parliament House since 1972 .

He also campaigns for the gold mining operations of the Barrick Gold Corporation , the largest gold mining company in the world, to be ended at Lake Cowal , as this would threaten the existence of sacred places of the Wiradjuri and the ecology of the landscapes.

Williams was in the 1960s a sports boxer, won numerous battles and as a member of the Australian boxer selection of the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo participated.
