The  New England Steamrollers  were an  arena football team from Providence , Rhode Island that played in the  Arena Football League  (AFL). The Steamrollers played their home games in the Providence Civic Center .

It was founded in 1988. After only one season, the franchise was dissolved again.

The Steamrollers finished their first and only season with three wins and nine losses, with only one of their home games being won. The playoffs were thus missed.
