New Perspectives on Turkey (NPT) is a leading social science journal for Turkish studies . NPT focuses on the politics, society, economy and culture of Turkey and the Ottoman Empire . In addition to scientific articles, book reviews, review articles, comments and conference reports are printed. It has been published biennially at the Homer Academic Publishing House in Istanbul since 1987 and is subject to peer review .

The editors are the political scientist Cengiz Kırlı and the sociologist Zafer Yenal from Boğaziçi Üniversitesi . The current editorial board includes several Turkish scholars with teaching duties in the USA, the UK and Turkey: Ayfer Bartu Candan , Ümit Cizre , Selim Deringil , Reşat Kasaba , Çağlar Keyder , Erol Köroğlu , Biray Kolluoğlu , Yael Navaro-Yashin , Ayashe Öncü , Şevket Pamuk , Asuman Suner , Fikret Şenses and Cihan Z. Tuğal . Book Review Editor is Deniz Yükseker . Since 2010 there has been close cooperation with the Chair in Contemporary Turkish Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science . The cooperation is financially supported by the Turkish Economy Bank (TEB).

According to the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), the journal had an Impact Factor of 1,053 in 2018 and was therefore ranked 65th among the most important journals in the category "Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary".
