New industrial cell encapsulation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

New industrial cell encapsulation (NICE) is a new process for the encapsulation of solar cells .

The previously common plastic films EVA and Tedlar and the soldering of the solar cells are dispensed with. Instead, the composite is built up similar to an insulating glass pane and filled with inert gas . The soldered connectors and solar cells are fixed with glue during production . The glasses are pressed against one another in such a way that the pressure ensures secure electrical contacts and the fixation of the solar cells and soldered connectors.
