Newswatch is a weekly Nigerian magazine published by Newswatch Communications Ltd. is published. The publishing house was founded in 1984 by Nigerian journalists Dele Giwa , Ray Ekpu, Dan Agbese and Yakubu Mohammed. The first issue of the Newswatch appeared on January 28, 1985. The circulation of the magazine is given at the top with 100,000 copies.

Dele Giwa, the first editor-in-chief, was murdered in his home on October 19, 1986 with a letter bomb.
