Mayu Shinjo
Mayu Shinjo ( Japanese 新 條 ま ゆ , Shinjō Mayu , actually: 新 條 真 由 ; born January 26, 1973 in Emukae (today: Sasebo ), Nagasaki , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist . Her works are aimed primarily at young girls, so they belong to the Shōjo genre.
biography
The first publication as a professional draftsman succeeded Shinjo in February 1994 with the short story Anata no Iro ni Somaritai . This was her first work for the manga magazine Shōjo Comic . For this and the magazine Cheese, which is also published by Shōgakukan- Verlag . she has been working mainly since then. More short stories followed, as well as several multi-chapter comics such as Make Love Shiyo! or Sexy Guardian .
She achieved great success with the approximately 2,800 page manga series Kaikan Phrase , which appeared in Shōjo Comic from 1997 to 2000 . The comic is about a girl who falls in love with a popular singer and songwriter and establishes a love and erotic relationship with him. Kaikan Phrase was filmed as an anime series, and the seventeen anthologies have sold around seven million copies in Japan.
From 2001 to 2002 Shinjo devoted himself to the manga Virgin Crisis . The work published in Shōjo Comic and published in four books describes a girl who meets the devil in the form of an attractive man and makes a pact with him, according to which he can have her virginity if he can get the girl's crush to fall in love with it. Other successful Shinjo comics include Haou Airen, which consists of around 1,500 pages, and Love Celeb, which has around 1,100 pages . Love Celeb's seven anthologies have sold over 1.2 million copies in Japan.
In many of the artist's works, the focus is on an innocent young person who meets a desirable man and receives (first) erotic or romantic experiences from him. Her work has been translated into German, English, Spanish and French.
