Virgin Crisis

Virgin Crisis ( Japanese 悪 魔 な エ ロ ス , Akuma na Erosu , eng. "Devilish Eros") is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Mayu Shinjo . It can be assigned to the Shōjo genre.

Miu Sakurai is madly in love with the handsome and brilliant Amamiya. But this seems to know nothing of their existence. In her desperation, she accidentally conjures up Satan with the help of a magic book . He guarantees her the love of Amamiya, but demands Mius' virginity in return. At first she refuses to agree to the pact, but when her crush continues to ignore her and her classmates tease her about it, she agrees to the contract. Now Miu has a big brother named Kai, who pretends to be Satan, and a little one named Tsubasa, Satan's servant Malphas, who both want to take care of Amamiya. But that turns out to be more difficult than expected. In addition, Satan begins to develop feelings for Miu. Amamiya doesn't seem to be who he initially claimed to be either.

Characters

Miu Sakurai ( 桜 井 ミ ウ , Sakurai Miu )

is 15 years old and the female protagonist of Virgin Crisis. She attends the first grade of the upper school of a mission school with her crush Amamiya, who, however, hardly takes any notice of her. Besides, she is still a virgin. As if that wasn't bad enough for her, she is bullied by her female classmates, who also don't miss an opportunity to scold her at Amamiya.

Kai Sakurai / Satan ( 桜 井 魁 / サ タ ン , Sakurai Kai / Satan )

is the prince of the underworld and always out to bring unsuspecting people with contracts for their souls. In the form of a tall, black-haired man with goat horns, he appears one day at Miu's to make a pact with her. Later he creeps into their life in a different form as Mius brother in order to better control the course.

Shion Amamiya / Michael ( 天宮 司 恩 / ミ カ エ ル , Amamiya Shion / Mikaeru )

is the sports fanatic and popular student at Mius School. He is a devout Christian and takes care of the nearby chapel in addition to the school. At first he hardly noticed Miu. However, his interest increases when he realizes that Miu has somehow gotten to Satan. He later turns out to be Archangel Michael, whereby his human code name can be read as the “gracious head of the Temple of Heaven”.

Tsubasa Sakurai / Malphas ( 桜 井 翼 / マ ル パ ス , Sakurai Tsubasa / Marupasu )

serves Satan as a raven, because he once helped him. Later, his master turns him into Miu's little brother to control Miu in case Amamiya confesses his love to her.

Seela ( セ ー ラ , Sēra )

is a curly woman with small wings. Half angel and half demon, she was Satan's sex playmaker in hell. Because of her origins, she has contact with Michael. After her place at Satan's side is replaced by Miu, she tries to take revenge. Like Satan before, she interferes in Miu's life and poses as an American exchange student. At first friendly and kind towards Miu, she turns out to be an angel of revenge by telling lies to her arch rival and making her jealous. When that doesn't work, she even goes a little further.

Misaki

is a classmate of Miu and a member of the Amamiya fan club. Later, Satan attacks her to make Miu jealous.

Publications

The manga was first published in Japan in 2001, chapter by chapter, in the manga magazine Shōjo Comic . This was followed by the two special chapters Devilish Lover in September 2001 and Devilish Wife in February 2002 in the same magazine .

In Germany the manga was published in 4 volumes.
